By integrating the onpage crawler and connecting to various APIs, BAVOKO SEO Tools collects a lot of data. In addition to memory consumption, the following also deals with the protection of your data, which is particularly important to us.

Data Protection

To put it bluntly: The BAVOKO SEO Tools WordPress Plugin does not send any SEO data that you have stored in your backend via the APIs and the onpage crawler to our servers, with only the few minor, but neccessary exceptions listed below. All data remains in your backend and is not sent to any other services, only you have it at your disposal.

Exceptions:

1. Ranking Keywords from the GSC API: Search Volume & CPC Data in the WordPress Backend

In the PRO version, the BAVOKO SEO Tools Plugin sends the keywords that you have stored in your backend to our servers via the API connection with the Google Search Console. However, this is only about the keyword string we need to provide you with the right search volume and CPC data for more in-depth ranking analyses. Keyword metrics such as clicks, impressions, position, or CTR are not transmitted to BAVOKO and are only available to you.

Since no search volume and CPC data is provided in the Free version, the keyword strings are not sent to the BAVOKO servers.

2. WordPress URLs for the external Crawler

In the PRO version of BAVOKO SEO Tools, the URLs of your WordPress installation are also sent to our servers for onpage and request analysis.

There are two simple reasons for this:

  • It can happen that a crawl starting from the homepage can cause bad or unlinked pages to be overlooked.
  • Our servers allow us to collect additional data that you would not be able to gather using the integrated crawler in BAVOKO SEO Tools alone. This data is returned to your WordPress installation for more comprehensive SEO analysis and is deleted from our server after one week.

Both exceptions are data that can be obtained with many public tools, APIs or scripts. However, these are never quite complete, which is why we send the keyword strings from the Google Search Console and the URLs from your WordPress installation to the BAVOKO server.

BAVOKO SEO Tools does not record User Data –
GDPR compliant

The BAVOKO SEO Tools WordPress Plugin gets the data only from the connected APIs and the onpage crawler, which do not provide any personal information, but only data directly related to the website. Also, neither user data is collected, nor cookies are set, which means that our plugin fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Freemius: Plugin, System & Payment Data

We are managing the sales process of the BAVOKO SEO Tools WordPress Plugin with the help of the provider “Freemius“. The service is firmly integrated in our plugin and informs us about our users, the systems and the use of our plugin. The only personal information collected by Freemius is the name and email address of our users. You can find more information on the following URL: https://freemius.com/wordpress/usage-tracking/

Info: With an opt-in you also agree to receive newsletters from us. This is only sent to you every few weeks, but with more additional content.

Data Volume & Memory Control

BAVOKO SEO Tools works with a large amount of data and different APIs. To ensure optimal performance, our plugin stores this data within the cache. As a result, these can also be accessed particularly quickly.

Search

With BAVOKO SEO Tools up to 5000 keywords are downloaded from the Google Search Console into your WordPress backend for the ranking analyses every day.

With 5000 daily keywords (~ 600 kb per day) this results in a maximum data volume of ~ 54 MB in 90 days. Larger websites can retrieve up to 25,000 keywords daily, depending on the chosen package for BAVOKO SEO Tools Premium.

Although the space in your cache will be sufficient, we still give you the possibility to manually limit the period for which the records are to be saved within the plugin settings. To do this, proceed as follows:

  • In the “Settings” section navigate to the tab “General”.
  • Define Cache Limit

  • Within “Search Settings” you can then define an individual cache limit. The specified value corresponds to the days that your records are to be cached (Minimum value: 90 days).

Onpage

BAVOKO SEO Tools performs a complete crawl of your website for the onpage and performance data in the WordPress plugin once a week. After each crawl, only history data is continuously stored, the remaining data from the previous week is deleted at this point.

We recommend that you only select post types for onpage analysis that are relevant for search engine optimization, as BAVOKO SEO Tools Free is limited to 1,000 pages per week, thus preventing unimportant, non-optimized post types from being included in your onpage score. Furthermore, with cleverly selected post types in the onpage crawl, you always receive a particularly realistic snapshot of your search engine optimization and can thereby proceed in an even more focused manner.

The average record size per crawled page is ~10 kb. For 1000 crawled pages, this means a maximum of ~10 MB of data records per week. BAVOKO SEO Tools always deletes the data from the previous week after the current data has been completely saved.

How to define the post types if you haven’t yet set up the Onpage Crawl

  • Navigate to “Onpage” > “Onpage Analysis”.
  • Start first Onpage Crawl

  • Select the post types to be crawled by BAVOKO SEO Tools by ticking the appropriate boxes. Posts and pages are marked as the default, everything else is variable.

You can subsequently change the post types for your onpage crawl as follows:

  • Navigate to the “General” tab in “Settings”.
  • Post Type Settings

  • Select the post types to be crawled by BAVOKO SEO Tools under “Onpage Analysis” by ticking the appropriate boxes.
  • Post Type Settings

  • BAVOKO SEO Tools saves your data automatically.

Performance (PRO)

For the performance section, data from the onpage crawl as well as from Google Analytics is provided.

Data from the Crawl

Since the data for the request analysis is delivered with the onpage crawl, it is already included in the calculation for the onpage data in the upper paragraph. For the analysis of “Resources” in the “Performance” section of BAVOKO SEO Tools, the data in the plugin is not saved separately and only makes up a small part of it.

Data from Google Analytics

For the page speed data from Google Analytics BAVOKO SEO Tools needs about 250kb for 1000 pages.

Backlinks

Also for the backlinks various data sources are used:

  • BAVOKO API
  • Google Analytics API
  • Google Search Console table import

Both for the click data to the individual backlinks from Google Analytics, and for the backlink information through the table import from the Google Search Console and connection with the BAVOKO API, about 150kb are required for 1000 backlinks.

Data Protection & Control is important to us

If BAVOKO SEO Tools is fully set up, a large amount of data can accumulate over time. However, overall storage usage is not very high and should not be a problem for most hosting packages. To ensure that only you have access to your data, only the most essential information is sent from your backend to our servers for the purpose of better provision of information. If you want to limit the data, our SEO Plugin offers all necessary options within the “Settings” in BAVOKO SEO Tools.
