HTTP requests are received in the background of your website and sent to the user’s browser for each page view. The impact of these requests on your page speed is enormous and particularly important for you, as the loading times in turn have a direct effect on the user experience. The fewer requests are sent on your site, the faster and more user-friendly it is. In addition, since the speed update from Google, page speed also plays an important role for your Google Rankings.

What are Requests?

For each file linked in the HTML document that is to be loaded when a page is opened, the browser sends an HTTP request to your web server. These include CSS, JavaScript, images, icons, and other files.

The server then sends the requested files to the user’s browser. The more files are linked within your HTML document, the more requests are generated. With many requests, your page speed slows down accordingly.

It is therefore important to keep an overview of your website requests with the help of the request analysis in BAVOKO SEO Tools, in order to achieve an optimized page speed.

Request Analysis in BAVOKO SEO Tools

Within “Performance” > “Resources”, analyze the requests created by the CSS, JavaScript and image files of your pages and check their influence on your website’s performance in all relevant detail.

To do this, select the corresponding tab at the top of the plugin.

In the upper part of the analysis views you always find a diagram, which shows you at a glance how the file sizes of the individual requests of your website look like and how many of them are accessible. In addition, a compilation of the most important performance data for your requests is available. The table allows you to analyze other important request information such as the URL, its accessibility and status code, as well as loading time and size.

With a click on the eye icon you open a list of all pages on which the respective file is linked. Click on a page in this list to jump directly to the Content Optimizer‘s Performance tab, where you can then analyze the requests and page speed of this page in more detail.
